FIVE is a culture magazine serving and representing the five boroughs of New York City’s vibrant local (and increasingly national) live music scene. FIVE’s cover and interiors attempt, in print form, to replicate or at least allude to the live music experience. The feature article highlights the critically acclaimed Brooklyn-based band, The Hold Steady; the bold, colorful uppercase letters feed the pounding drum and base-beats while the text flows around the headlines and pull-quotes like a sweet, satisfying guitar riff.
