The challenge with the Vortex project was to form a logotype using an existing font. Vortex is an ITC Systems Company involved in networking and software integration. The word “vortex” describes a whirlwind, inspiring the embellished letter O; literally, a vortex is a mass of matter with a whirling or circular motion that forms a vacuum in its center. This visual representation of gathering material (people, information) to a common, center goal highlights Vortex’s networking and integration capabilities. The O, separated from the type, can also be individually implemented as a design element on stationary and business cards.
